Classical Music 4 People w/Short Attention Spans

Do you love classical music, but can't sit through a whole 90-minute symphony from start to finish? This show is for you.

WTMD and Classical Revolution Baltimore are partnering to present Classical Music for People With Short Attention Spans. It's the "Cliffs Notes" of classical music -- all of the parts you know and love in a few minutes or less.

The arrangements vary, too, from more traditional classical ensembles to electric guitar and beatboxing. This show will be broadcast live on air, with a studio audience. Featured performers include Pique Collective, Outcalls and the Baltimore vocal artist Dominic Shodekeh Talifero.

Here are some of the pieces we'll be presenting:

Mozart, Lacrimosa (from Requiem)
Beethoven, Symphony No. 7 Mvt. 2 (from King's Speech and Mr. Holland's Opus to name a few)
Verdi, Drinking Song (from Skittle's Singing Rabbit commercial)
Strauss, Also Sprach Zarathustra (from 2001: A Space Odyssey)
...and many more!

Classical Revolution Baltimore is a collective of musicians that perform chamber music in bars, clubs and public places to encourage more people to listen to classical music. Since their inception in 2011, Classical Revolution Baltimore has performed for thousands of people, many of them new classical music listeners and has organized over 85 performances including collaborations with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, BSO OrchKids, Reginald F. Lewis Museum, Baltimore Boom Bap Society, Dominic Shodekeh Talifero, Eze Jackson, and Alash Ensemble. Their work has been featured in The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore magazine, Baltimore City Paper and TEDxMidAtlantic.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show runs from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1 Olympic Place in Towson. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
