Keller is going big....bigger than normal....and bringing a little something for everyone on New Year's Eve. Keller & the Keels will start the night out with a party grass set followed by a mind-bending marathon of Keller originals that will evolve into a full on funkadelic jam with Keller & More Than A Little to ring in the New Year!
Keller and The Keels is a fun, foot-stomping project that includes Keller's old buddy and award-winning flat picker Larry Keel on guitar, and Larry's beautiful, rock-solid in-the-pocket acoustic bass playing wife, Jenny Keel. The trio are known for performing anything-but-traditional bluegrass songs and their unique renditions of tracks originally recorded by a diverse group of musicians such as Kris Kristofferson, The Butthole Surfers, Amy Winehouse, The Raconteurs, Ryan Adams and many others.
More Than A Little is Keller's newest muse - a 6 piece funk band! Williams is backed by some of the hardest–hitting players from his Virginia stomping ground, including a lovely duo of backup singers. Performing new, super-funky versions of Williams’ originals and an unexpected collection of cover songs done the "More Than A Little Way." Keller Williams with More Than A Little's soon to be released album, Funk (self-released / November 12, 2013), was recorded live at a pair of Virginia gigs (from the Norva in Norfolk and the National in Richmond), and during a show at Charlotte, North Carolina's Neighborhood Theatre. The album consists of four new Williams originals, and several interpretations of songs – including Talking Heads' "Once In a Lifetime," Rick James' "Mary Jane" and The Grateful Dead's "West L.A. Fadeaway." The album, writes Keller in Funk's liner notes, "is more than a little soulful, more than a little funky and it's making me more than a little happy." Guaranteed, it'll make you more than a little happy too.
